Hello Arati,

I hope that all is well.   I still miss the conference calls that were so much a part of our partnership for years.  Just a quick note to say thanks again for the fine job you did on the Summative Evaluation (SE) for the GEAR UP Waco project.   As I compose the Final Performance Report to submit to Dept of Ed, the SE is a tremendous resource.  It is a virtual one-stop document for chronicling not only the many successes but also the challenges we faced in implementing the project.

Take care,

(More coming soon!)

Arati served as a program evaluator for my NSF-sponsored research program focused on STEM teacher professional development. Through her expertise and teamwork skills, she contributed significantly to the success and innovation of the program.

Arati Singh led PTB’s evaluation team in conducting a summative evaluation of a six-year, $11 million Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) grant partnership between Baylor University and two local school districts.  Under the direction of Baylor University’s Vice Provost for Research, Baylor University conducted a national search and selected PTB as the evaluator of the grant, which was the largest of 27 GEAR UP partnership grants awarded that year in the nation.

Arati led her team in studying and understanding the complex relationships and challenging context of the Waco community, reining in and making sense of volumes of data from multiple campuses, assisting the partnership in making program decisions based on data, and developing publishable research and an empirically-based framework for future educational achievement in Waco.

The Vice Provost of Research commented that Arati and her team were “top notch professionals” and he looked forward to working with them again.
